riots due to four attacks a driver's car was acquitted by the court, despite a large number of video tapes on TV show blacks punched and kicked by the police. In four days of violence, looting and arson attacks, more than 50 people were killed and about 4,000 injured, and 12,000 people were arrested, and property damage of more than one billion US dollars. 10,000 Army and National Guard were called in to restore order.
