May 20.1980-Quebec citizens to vote against separation from Canada
In (on April seventh day Gengshen years), May 20, 1980 Quebec referendum opposed secession Canada.
May 1980 Quebec referendum vehemently opposed to the mainly French-speaking province broke away from the Canadian Federation. Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Quebec Liberal Party leader Claude Ryan, this vote is a victory. Strong opposition split, the two have made the promise to be committed to modify the Canadian Constitution. Quebec dominant force failed to win a majority of votes of the voters accounted for 80 percent of French-speaking Quebec 6.2 million residents. About 54% of the French-speaking voters at the polls voted against it, together with minority voters do not speak French.
