1984, the Soviet National Olympic Committee announced that the Soviet Union would not send a delegation to participate in the Los Angeles Summer Olympics. The Suao Committee explained, foreseen to Los Angeles, the city will take place indulgence in the United States anti-Soviet protests. The Suao Committee said: "Some people in the United States are being incited mood of chauvinism and anti-Soviet hysteria". Estimated other Soviet bloc countries, including Cuba and Vietnam will participate in this boycott. The United States and 59 other countries in 1980 boycott of the Moscow Olympics to protest the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
