June 1, 1859 (Kang Xi in early May), the American philosopher John Dewey's birthday.
Dewey, Health, June 1, 1859, is the founder of the "Chicago School" of American idealist philosopher, pragmatism. In in 1952, suffering from pneumonia, died, aged 92. Dewey firmly believe that "practice is the best way to learn and a lifetime to follow this credo. He reformed the school system in Chicago and New York, to help create a "New School of Social Research, and to assist in the work of the Civil Liberties Union.
Dewey was born to a good family in Vermont. He studied at the University of Vermont and Johns Hopkins University, and later teaching at Michigan State University and other prestigious schools. In 1899, he published a book "School and Society", strongly advocated the practice education. Spot checks carried out in China, Japan and the Soviet Union, he is learning appreciation and labor combined. His book "Experience and Nature" (1925) elaborated the point of view of his philosophy of pragmatism.
