July 7.1941-U.S. troops take over Iceland
June 13 (Government House), July 7, 1941, the U.S. military took over Iceland.
1941, U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt to inform the Congress, the U.S. Navy has already landed in Iceland to prevent the German occupation of Iceland. The action should be taken by the request of the Government of Iceland. (History Today www.lssdjt.com) whose purpose is to ensure the the U.S. munitions timely to Britain. Although some members of Congress take such action against the government, fear of further drawn into the vortex of conflict in Europe, but to get the consent of the majority of members of Congress, believe that it is necessary to clear away the German threat at sea. The British Government clapping praise Roosevelt's decision was "good news".
