1961 French troops embroiled in another North African dispute broke through the siege of Bizerte naval base, and moved into Tunis. French military use aircraft, tanks and machine guns at dawn attack, more than 100 Tunisian soldiers were killed. In Tunisia, the United Nations asked the French to withdraw its troops from the base of the Mediterranean. Shortly after the fighting took place in Algeria, there have been new troubles, where Islamists have clashed with the French garrison.
